Can we find a way together?
A way together, to be.
A father, a lover, a daughter and her brother.
The world, you mean to me.
If i could wish for anything
My only wish would be
That we could find a way together
And you, that you would see…..
That yes, i love you
And i know that you are falling
Yes, i love you
Do you know that we are falling too?
In the last 25 years, as a result of his work with leading arts organisations like Belfast Community Circus, Dockers and Demons, Brassneck Theatre, Lunar Circus, City Fusion and CahootsNI, Hugh has developed his own programme of creative exploration, Theatrical Thinking, working with people of all ages and backgrounds, using the disciplines of Circus and Theatre as a metaphor for learning about confidence, creativity and individual expression. In the last two years this has seen Hugh travelling to Poland and Germany with Hillas Smith of Belfast Community Circus, at the request of companies affiliated with the European Mysteries and Drolls Project. This sees Hugh and Hillas leading a small group of actors and acrobats on a journey of physical theatre and circus, discovering the clown within each participant and exploring a unique and special story that comes from each individuals personal experiences. In Poland we discovered The Boy with the Empty Head and in Germany, Hansel und Gretel.
“This is the boy with the empty head.
He does not sleep, he is not dead.
He is the forest and the sea,
he is the heart of you and me.
We are the sky, the stars, the earth
The life and soul, the death, the birth.
The sun it sets, the day is dead.
This is the boy with the empty head.”
